How
exciting to meet our friends and to see
the spiritual growth.
When
we arrived the women had already
been
busy cooking in the kitchen.
These
women brought ground corn meal to be patted into
tortillas for our meal.
How
exciting to be at the baptism for six new members.
Many
visitors attended and listened with interest.
Some
took pictures of this new event.
Children
watched intently during the baptism.
Pastor
Mariano and the congregation
prayed
for these new members.
The
church served a meal after the evening service.
We
set up our tent and laid down around 1pm.
Within
an hour a brother woke us up to request
that
we take a sick woman to the hospital
in
Cahabon, an hour’s drive away
as the ambulance couldn’t come.
Around
5am we got back into our tent.
It
had been a long night with little sleep.
Last
year this couple lost a baby at birth
How
exciting to celebrate with them on Sunday
the
baby dedication of another new baby.
Pastor
Mariano and his wife Matilde also
had
their grandchild visiting. They were
grateful
for
our car to take their children back
to
their house in Chicoj.
Geraldo
shared his testimony of how difficult
it
had been to attend the evangelical church alone.
His
family didn’t understand and spoke harshly
against
his decision. However now his parents
and
three siblings became baptized members.
With
tears Geraldo pleaded that the
congregation
continue to pray for the unsaved
members
in his family and community.
Geraldo’s
father and mother and siblings
Jose,
one of the first believers also shared his
testimony
of God’s healing upon his life.
His
face glows with the joy of the Lord.
Phyllis
enjoyed a conversation with Hilado
who
has been freed from his alcohol addiction.
Thank you for your
continued prayers for
Mariano and his wife Matilde
as they continue
to nurture this congregation.
