Trip to Intermissions

Each year we have the opportunity to attend
a retreat for missionaries living in Guatemala.
We enjoy reconnecting with many friends
and making new contacts.

We stayed one night at SEMILLA on our way.
EMU students were studying there.
Carmen Witmer was among those in this group.

Our Intermissions speaker, John Coulombe,
led us to laugh together as we studied the
theme: “Maintaining Joy in the Trenches”

Beautiful cow lilies in our buffet line brought
delight.  Our hotel lies in the background.

After the conference we took a boat ride across Lake Atitlan
to San Pedro to visit with our dear friend, Dr. Elam Stoltzfus,
who came to Guatemala with a medical team that week.

We met up with Elam.
Stefen Hess also traveled with us.

We also met Pastor Arlie Davis from
Christ Wesleyan Church in Milton, PA

Posing with Elam again

We enjoyed this view from our hotel.

Women were washing clothes by the lake.
We left early the next morning to return home.
