Many Kekchi villages are nestled in hills
with the only access to them by a foot path.
We walk for an hour or more on paths to different villages.
As people move into the mountains regions,
many trees are cut to provide space for planting corn
which is their primary source of food.
At our destination we listened to Pastor Crisanto
as he shared about his life and the church work.
The women were busy in the kitchen preparing our meal.
What a relaxed spot for the little one while his
mother was busy!
During the evening service, the children shared
memorized
Bible texts and sang for the congregation.
In the morning a mist hung over the valley.
The view from one mountain top to another portrays
the grandeur of God’s creation.
Phyllis’ washed up using the drips of rain falling from
the roof.
We started out in the rain to walk to another village
for the Sunday morning service.
This new mission was located in a neighboring village.
The church in this community was started very recently
and the new believers needed our encouragement.
A growing new leader led the service.
The trail was slick from the slippery mud
as we
returned to the car.
Pray
that God would strengthen the new believers.
Guys, Thank you! May our Father continue to give you strength and joy! Shalom , al longenecker
