First Week In December

We’re enjoying the blooming poinsettias in our neighbors’ gardens and listening to Christmas music.

Galen shared a moment of laughter with Alfredro and Alejandro before leaving to go share a meal with Efrain, director at Bezaleel School.

We’re having unusual warm weather here in Guatemala.   Wash dries quickly on the line.   When visiting a Kekchi family this week we were reminded of the stark reality that washing clothes is a much more difficult task for others.  Water has to be carried in a large container and the wash scrubbed by hand before being hung on the line dripping wet.  Many people here depend on rain for their main source of water. But climatic changes and deforestation have made it hotter and dryer leaving many people here short of water.

This wash board serves for scrubbing dirty clothes.

We’re off for a trip to Belize tomorrow to visit with Nancy Marshall in Orange Walk.  They plan to have a baptism of two young believers in the deaf church Nancy leads.  Pray that these new believers would be faithful in their commitment to Christ.
