It really happened!! Al and Ada Longenecker came to visit us in Guatemala. Al and Ada are special people to us because of all the dear folks at Buffalo Church, we have known Al and Ada longer than most. Al is Galen's first cousin and Ada is a grade school friend.
We enjoyed watching their first impressions of the land and the people whom we have come to love for 15 years of our lives. We visited Kekchi homes and churches, toured some tourist sites, talked about what God is doing in our lives and reminisced about old times.
We visited one well established church of about 300 members. This church is starting a new mission in a distant community as a result of the pastor's weekly radio program. Then on Sunday we attended the dedication of a new church building at a small mission where 9 families started to worship in homes less than two years ago. We were blessed to participate in a wedding of three couples in this small church. Al was delighted to photograph a wedding even so far from home. I'm sure it was the most unique wedding he ever photographed.
We are also blessed to have our daughter,Rose, come with them. She will stay for two weeks longer for a long awaited visit to the place she spend three years of her childhood.
